Michele Carey, born Michele Lee Henson, was the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr who was a physician in America and Thelma Burnell Henson. Burnell Henson. While still a teenager she excelled at playing the piano, and at age 13 she was crowned the winner of an international competition at the Chicago Music Festival.
